Demi Lovato was just a small time Disney star as the star of the miniseries, As The Bell Rings, in 2007. Just one year later, she became one of the channel’s biggest stars, when she starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock. The film premiered this June and Lovato starred as Mitchie Torres, the love interest of Shane Gray, played by Joe Jonas. Rumors immediately started that the pair were dating and that she was having a feud with another Disney star. After Demi and close pal Selena Gomez put up a YouTube video for fans to check out, Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus and best friend Mandy Jiroux added a video of their own poking fun at them. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lovato did some rumor control, opening up about both Jonas and Cyrus.

''Imagine being new to Disney, and your first big job is being the romantic interest of one of the biggest heartthrobs on the channel," she explained to the magazine. "Any girl that is a friend of the Jonas Brothers gets hate mail and is automatically suspected as a girlfriend.” She swears that she and Joe Jonas never had a relationship and are just good friends. In fact, she finds the whole rumor hilarious saying that if she was going to date a Jonas Brother, she would have by now.

In terms of her feud with Miley, she says that one doesn’t exist and in fact, she doesn’t even know the Hannah Montana star that well. “We didn't take offense or think it was a negative or a positive,” she said of the YouTube video. “It was just like, ‘OK, cool, Hannah Montana knows who I am!’'' she said. Cyrus did once give Lovato career advice but this Camp Rock star already has a star that she looks up to, former Lizzie McGuire star Hilary Duff. "She has stayed a really good role model,'' Lovato said. “I think it's really cool that someone can grow up and continue to be looked up to by young girls.
