Miley Stewart is portrayed by Miley Cyrus in the hit television series on Disney Channel,
Hannah Montana. An ordinary girl with extraordinary singing talent, Miley leads a double life both as a high school student and as a successful pop star named Hannah Montana. She resides with her father, Robby and her brother Jackson in Malibu, California, but her family is originally from Tennessee. Her mother died when she was younger.
In season 1, Miley entered Seaview Middle School, where she met her best friends Lilly Truscott and Oliver Oken, who eventually found out her secret about being Hannah Montana. Miley was initially bothered at the possibility of Lilly not treating her the same if she found out who Miley really was. Miley refused to tell Lilly about being Hannah Montana, until Lilly discovered it on her own after she snuck into Hannah Montana’s dressing room after a concert. Lilly found out that it was Miley all along.
In season 2, she becomes a high school student studying at the school where her own brother is enrolled. Miley is in frequent conflict with Amber Addison and Ashley Dewitt, who are huge fans of Hannah Montana. She also had an on-again, off-again relationship with the actor, Jake Ryan. As her normal, schoolgirl self, she often shows the characteristic of being an extreme deadpan.
Also in season 2, Miley and Lilly create a deeper bond as they pull pranks together and do things for each other, as close friends would. Lilly once recorded a song as a gift for her mother, but she wasn't very good at singing so Miley decided to edit it to make it sound better. Upon hearing the track, Lilly thought she could really sing, and confidently went up against Amber in Karaoke Night at school. Miley then told her the truth, and Lilly was quite disappointed. However, the two devised a plan to still get to beat Amber by making Lilly lip-synch a song, while Miley was singing it in another room.
Only a number of people know about Miley's secret of being Hannah Montana, and included on the list are her family, best friends Lilly and Oliver, her ex-boyfriend Jake, the family bodyguard Roxy and her costume designer, Fermaine.
