AMC attempts to take viewers back to a time when IBM surged to prominence and fueled the rise of the PC era in the early 1980s through the new scripted series Halt and Catch Fire. The network recently released the first trailer for the 10-episode series, which is created by Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers.

According to the network's press release, "Halt and Catch Fire is set roughly one year after IBM all but corners the market with the release of its first major product -- the IBM PC. It is also the same year people realize that the IBM PC has a fatal flaw, which quickly makes personal computing anyone's game."

Lee Pace, who is known for his role on Pushing Daisies, takes the lead on Halt and Catch Fire as former IBM executive Joe MacMillan who plans to enter the personal computer race through his current company, Cardiff Electric. Scoot McNairy joins the cast as Gordon Clark, a has-been engineer who aspires to create a revolutionary product while  Mackenzie Davis star as a volatile genius named Cameron Howe. Together the visionary,  the engineer and the prodigy team up to work on a PC rogue project while they take on personal and professional risks.

Halt and Catch Fire premieres June 1 at 10pm on AMC.
