Frank Dicopoulos, who was born on January 3, 1957 in Akron, Ohio, was educated at Kenyon College where he majored psychology and minored in art and drama. While in college, he was active in sports such as football, basketball and lacrosse and was interested in pursuing a career as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine.
