'Guiding Light' Spoilers for the Week of December 17

Mandy Bruno as Marina A rigged election, a Cooper's trip to rehab to strike a deal with an old friend and a frantic search for a dangerous Spaulding are only a few of the dramatic storylines that were featured in last week's run of Guiding Light.  The usual love triangles also earned some air time last week, with Friday's episode ending with Remy (Lawrence St. Victor) warning Marina (Mandy Bruno) about Harley's (Beth Ehlers) relationship with Cyrus (Murray Bartlett).

To know what's going to happen in this week's Guiding Light, read on for spoilers.

In line with the approaching holidays, Mallet (Robert Bogue) finds an interesting way to punish Dinah (Gina Tognoni): he forces her to sell Christmas trees as a sort of public service.  Meanwhile, Reva (Kim Zimmer) hopes she will get to celebrate Christmas with Jeffrey (Bradley Cole) at their house, but first, she will have to convince him that she doesn't want to spend the holidays with Josh (Robert Newman).

Speaking of Josh, he might just spend the holidays alone, as Will (Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick) hatches a plan to get Cassie (Nicole Forester) all to himself on Christmas Eve.

On the other side of town, Remy delivers some disheartening news to Marina. Marina's suspicions of Harley and Cyrus lead her to take action, and she sets off to corner the two.  Harley, meanwhile, starts to believe that her dream of becoming romantically involved with Cyrus will soon become a reality.

As for the rigged elections, Mallet begins investigating Buzz (Justin Deas), who, in the meantime, is busy making a deal with Bill (Daniel Cosgrove).

Bill, meanwhile, blows off Ava (Michelle Ray Smith) and becomes the target of Lizzie's (Marcy Rylan) vengeance.

Ava receives another blow when Olivia (Crystal Chappell) tells her about her diagnosis.  She also continues to try to keep Ashlee (Caitlin Van Zandt) away from Coop (John Driscoll).

Olivia is also doing some scheming of her own this week, as she pulls some strings to get Gus (Ricky Paull Goldin) all to herself.

Finally, on Friday, December 21st, Doris (Orlagh Cassidy), who has been utterly devastated since she “lost” the election, shows Buzz a different side of her.

Guiding Light airs weekdays on CBS.
