The ups and downs of the 13th season of Grey’s Anatomy are slated to come to a head for its highly anticipated season finale. And the creator of the ABC show, Shonda Rhimes, has confirmed that fans will certainly be thrown for a loop.

Rhimes and actress Debbie Allen both were a little mysterious when they described what fans can expect from the final episode of the season.

“Debbie Allen and I like to say that the episode is on fire,” Rhimes told Entertainment Weekly. “That’s the only way we’re going to describe it. It’s a pretty exciting episode that’s very on fire.”

Allen echoed similar sentiments and added, “I can only tease that it’s going to be hot for real; it’s on fire. We had a night shoots and we were up all night for a couple of weeks, but boy it was great. I was so excited every day.”

Rhimes decided not to spill too much and said, “I don’t know about that,” when asked if her and Allen’s teases meant that Grey Sloane Memorial Hospital would actually catch on fire.

But Allen did confirm that viewers should “be worried.”

“It’s that kind of night. It’s going to be that kind of ride.”

It looks like the fallout of whatever will happen on the season finale will spill into the upcoming 14th season.

“I think season 14 is going to be spectacular,” Allen added. “We’re planting some seeds that you won’t see coming, but you will be waiting to see how it’s all going to play out.”

Interestingly enough, these teases come after reports swirled that Dr. Stephanie Edwards (portrayed by actress Jerrika Hinton) will not be returning to the show for the next season as she has signed on to another lead role on Alan Ball’s HBO series, according to TV Line.
