Yes she is back, but Katherine Heigl won't be staying on Seattle Grace for too long. People reports that the actress who plays Izzie Stevens on Grey's Anatomy will be going on a temporary hiatus from the ABC medical drama to work on her big-screen project, romantic-comedy Life As We Know It from Brothers and Sisters' Greg Berlanti.

"Katherine is taking time off to film a movie," an ABC rep confirms. "The producers at Grey's have accommodated past things like that before. It's a cast of 13 and it is a true ensemble so the show is mindful of other commitments."

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes had previously said that the upcoming season of the show will feature more character-centric episodes, so fans should probably expect more of these episodes, where one or two of the ensemble cast will be nowhere in sight.

However, her reportedly five-episode hiatus will coincide with Ellen Pompeo's maternity leave (to last until November). And with TR Knight not returning, won't Seattle Grace feel awfully wanting in doctors?

Shonda has it covered, apparently, as she previously revealed that three new interns will be filling in the gap. The new interns will be played by Nora Zehetner, Robert Baker, and Jesse Williams. The doctors, however, are only in recurring capacity, so it's not one of them new batch of doctors to take over the old ones; or at least not yet.
