A month ago, Kate Walsh
, Grey’s Anatomy
cast member who now has her own spin-off series called Private Practice
, was spotted at the Mustard Seed Restaurant in Hollywood getting cozy with an unknown man, and then again at a fund-raiser for Barack Obama in Los Angeles. When People asked Walsh about the new man in her life, the 39-year old actress remained coy while saying “a great guy, but I’m not giving you a name.” Gradually, she unveiled her mystery man and described him to the media as a good guy with substance. And after keeping her love life under the wraps over the past year, she publicly announced her engagement to Alex Young, a production co-president at 20th Century Fox.
So what made the Grey's Anatomy
actress fall in love with Young? “Oh, everything. He’s the most amazing man I ever met,” she told Entertainment Weekly during a party at The Box in New York.
Young, credited for X-Men: The Last Stand
and Fantastic Four
, gave Walsh a Neil Lane Jubilee-cut diamond during his proposal last week in San Francisco. Walsh, who confirmed the engagement Tuesday, thrillingly told reporters, "It happened a few days ago. And that’s all I can say, I'm on cloud nine.”
Without a doubt, Walsh had another reason to smile about apart from her recent engagement. ABC had already announced that her own spin-off series, Private Practice
, had been officially picked up for a full season and will premiere this fall on Wednesday nights at 9 pm. Amy Brenneman (Judging Amy), Paul Adelstein
), Tim Daly (Wings), Taye Diggs (Day Break), Chris Lowell
) and Merrin Dungey (Alias) were also reported to be included on the new medical drama.
