Hot Doctors vs. Bloody Corpses -- Grey's Anatomy vs. CSI
ABC's
Grey's Anatomy will be moving to Thursday nights starting September 21 for its third season, up against CBS mainstay
CSI. Does
Grey's Anatomy have what it takes to make it against the procedural giant? Probably.
While
CSI was last year's highest-rated scripted drama,
Grey's Anatomy was not far behind at #5, beating out
CSI's Miami and New York spinoffs.
Despite its high ratings,
CSI's sixth season finale was said by many to be a "jump the shark" episode. And
Grey's Anatomy has been gaining in popularity, especially since winning the coveted post-Super Bowl spot in February of 2006. NBC is rumoured to have moved its new
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip to Mondays simply to avoid competing with Grey's Anatomy.
ABC is counting on the popularity of
Grey's Anatomy to draw viewers to their other Thursday night shows,
Ugly Betty and
Six Degrees, both premiering this fall.
