On Thursday night, Grey’s Anatomy finally returns for its 5th season with a 2 hour premiere. Things have changed though, for the residents of Seattle Grace since we saw them last. "We ended last season with the end of the fairy tale," series creator Shonda Rhimes said in a recent interview. "I always thought this season was about what happens after the `happily ever after,' for all our characters." Several promos have been airing for the new season of Grey’s and based on the quick, flashing images during them, and some helpful internet rumors, I’ve been able to decipher some new things to look forward to on the new season of Grey’s Anatomy!

** WARNING!  MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD! **

Cristina will at the very least, have chemistry with and at the very most, have a relationship with a new doctor at Seattle Grace, played by Kevin McKidd. Good! It’s about time she got over Burke since we’ve been over him for quite some time.

Rose will tell Derek that she’s pregnant but Grey’s creator Shonda Rhimes promises that she is not pregnant. It seems that Rose is quite the manipulator! It’s also been said that Lauren Stamile, who plays Rose, will not appear beyond the first episode in season 5.

With Meredith on board for a serious relationship with Derek that doesn’t involve running away or trying to drown herself, he’ll start talking marriage but is she ready? They’ll take one step closer to getting to the altar when they discuss moving in together. One step at a time, MerDer…

Alex seems to be making the rounds at Seattle Grace, of the sexual kind. George confronts Lexie about having slept with someone, presumably Dr. Karev. Izzie and Alex have also been spotted cozying up together but he has also been seen kissing a woman with much longer, brown hair. Perhaps Rebecca is still hanging around and will get her stuff together!

Derek is involved in some kind of accident, which puts him in Seattle Grace as a patient. Meredith sees him lying on a gurney and begins screaming. When this accident takes place is unclear although rumor has it that it happens when he leaves her in the field with the candles, on his way to break things off with Rose.
