It's a double whammy of
Grey's Anatomy news this morning. Thank goodness for that, right? Why read one piece of news when it could be two? The two stories, although completely unrelated, involve two people who, for all we can tell, legitimately despise each other:
Isaiah Washington and
Katherine Heigl. Heigl was a huge supporter of
T.R. Knight throughout the whole business with the name-calling and she's probably somewhat pleased that Isaiah won't be back on the show. Maybe not, though; we can't be putting words in people's mouths over here. Anyway, first, here is the Isaiah Washington story:
Sources are saying that Washington is working on a deal of vague nature with NBC. Presumably, he'd be developing a new television show.
Entertainment Weekly quotes him as saying that he and his agent "are sorting through a ton of offers in both film and TV ... There is one network in particular that's very interested, but I don't want to say anything specific until it's a done deal."
That network is, again, said to be NBC, who would love to turn ABC's misfortune into a success for themselves. However, Isaiah Washington doesn't particularly seem like a person who you want under your employ. He has a long history of on-set altercations and his handling of his dismissal from
Grey's Anatomy has been anything but professional. For example, his recent claim that Knight should have been fired instead of him is a preposterous notion.
Moving on: Katherine Heigl, who has already had a great summer, starring in the box office smash “Knocked Up”, has set a wedding date. Heigl and musician Josh Kelley be married on December 23, two days before Christmas, on Heigl's rural Utah property. The decision was reportedly made to coincide with Heigl's holiday hiatus from
Grey's Anatomy and will be held early enough for Heigl and Kelley to still have a short honeymoon before
Grey's Anatomy reconvenes.
