Grey's Anatomy

-Drama Taking its name from a popular anatomy book, Grey's Anatomy centers around the personal lives of interns at Seattle Grace Medical Center, a fictitious hospital in Washington State. High melodrama is always on the operating table as the doctors of Grey's Anatomy laugh, cry, fight and make out in-between open-heart surgeries. Engaging characters and a super-hip soundtrack make this one hospital fans can't resist checking into.

I have been in such Cristina Yang withdrawal lately. She’s been moping around all season, and stands by, silently, every time Erica Hahn passes her over for a surgery. Where's the Cristina we used to know and love?

Last night, Grey’s gave us a little Burke update, in case anyone was wondering how life after Seattle Grace was treating him. When a newspaper article, about Burke winning the highly regarded Harper-Avery Award, was pinned up on the hospital bulletin board, Cristina was forced to face two realities. The first was that she would only hear of him through stories and news articles. The second was that Burke now behaves as if Cristina never existed, which she realized when he did not even mention her name as a person who helped him reach the pinnacle of his career.

On last night’s episode of Grey’s, the hospital insisted on a date-and-tell policy where every staff member had to disclose who they’ve slept with. McSteamy probably needed to use the front and back of the page he was given. Bailey, who has recently separated from her husband, handed in her blank paper, never having mixed business with pleasure. When Webber laughed at the idea of her sleeping with a member of the hospital staff, she slapped him, lectured him, and demanded respect. When Sloane asked her for help in winning over the nurses, she told them to close their legs and go about their business, saying they knew he was a whore before they ever touched him.

Cristina handed in her paper, after avoiding it for as long as she could. Webber tried to sympathize but she shut him right down, explaining that what she was going through was just merely her reality. Burke went on to become even more regarded than he already was while she walked the same halls of Seattle Grace every day. She lives in Burke’s apartment and never touches a scalpel, when only a year ago, she was Burke’s hand. Now, she’s just a ghost of who she once was. It was all so true and she left her colleagues, and the viewers, speechless.

Last night’s episode featured Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson at their absolute best. They can make us laugh with renditions of “Like A Virgin” and McSteamy slaps and then, turn it around a minute later as they let us in to the very depths of their souls. Both should be nominated for an Emmy and the Academy would be hard pressed to choose one great performance over another.

Based on last night's episode, who deserves an Emmy nom?
Sandra Oh
Chandra Wilson
Both!
