If best friend Katherine Heigl is busy with babies and the big screen, TR Knight, the actor who played the late and often-missed George O'Malley on
Grey's Anatomy, is invading Broadway. After starring in a production of
Parade last year, the 37-year-old is making a u-turn and will appear in the Broadway debut of David Mamet's
A Life in the Theatre.

Jesse Williams Promoted to 'Grey's Anatomy' RegularKnight, whose George died disfigured and trying to save someone in 2009, will appear opposite Patrick Stewart in the production that will begin previews in September at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. The official opening will be sometime in October.
A Life in the Theatre follows the relationship between a young newcomer (to be played by Knight) and a mature stage actor (Stewart) as their professional bond is tested by a series of on-stage and off-stage incidents. Of course Knight is by no means a stranger to Broadway, with
Noises Off in 2001 and
Tartuffe in 2003.
Meanwhile, a more current
Grey's Anatomy cast member, Kim Raver, is
starring in the Lifetime Original Movie
Bond of Silence based on a true story of a mother who made headlines when she forgave the person who killed her husband, who was then checking on a teenage house party. She then toured to increase people's awareness on teen violence.
"It's always great being able to do research, and Katy wrote this amazing book
Walking After Midnight: One Woman's Journey Through Murder I read. I've asked her so many questions. She's unique, a special woman," says Raver, who says meeting the person she's playing is "unique."
Raver, 41, became a series regular on
Grey's Anatomy in January of this year. Her former roles include Nico Reilly in
Lipstick Jungle and Audrey Raines in
24.
