Another huge catastrophe is about to hit Seattle in Grey's Anatomy. Following a bomb in the hospital, the ferry boat disaster, a gunman shooting half the main cast and a plane crash, Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is once again poised to put the doctors through hell.

The two-part season 9 finale will feature a superstorm (kind of like Sandy, which ravaged the East Coast). It will first hit Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital at the end of the 23rd episode "Readiness Is All," with the majority of the action taking place in the appropriately titled finale, "Perfect Storm."

Here are the network's official synopses for the two episodes:

"Readiness Is All" (May 9)

"The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital prepare for a super storm heading towards Seattle; Owen's desire to be a parent gets stronger as he becomes closer to Ethan; and one wrong move puts the lives of Meredith and her baby in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Jo looks to Alex for help in a moment of crisis, and one doctor gets the shock of her life."

"Perfect Storm" (May 16)

"Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital enters crisis mode as the storm rages, resources become scarce and patients flood in by the busload. Meanwhile, one of the doctors fights for their life."

Based on the last sentence of both synopses, I think it's safe to assume that a female doctor will be struck by lightning, but the question is: Who? Callie got into a carh crash and Arizona lost her leg, so putting their lives in danger again would just be cruel. Meredith is going to be busy with her pregnancy and Bailey already has a big storyline with the outbreak.

That leaves Cristina and April. If it's April, that's a little too on-the-nose, being punished by an act of God. Cristina on the other hand, is a character who I would love to see in danger.

Let's be honest, Cristina has gotten away pretty nicely from all the danger. Sure she had a miscarriage and had an icicle impale her, but compared to everyone else, that's nothing. Heck, she was in a plane crash and the only bad thing that happened to her was she lost her shoe. Striking Cristina with lightning would be a good way to make up for escaping a plane crash unharmed (because, in my mind, Grey's Anatomy is just Final Destination).

Anyway, beyond the "shock" and a doctor having their life in danger, here are four other predictions for things I'd like to see from Grey's Anatomy's superstorm finale.

-Meredith, Derek and Zola get trapped in their home as flood waters rise. They crawl onto the roof, and wouldn't you know it, that's the exact moment Meredith goes into labor.

-Alex Karev, wearing a snazzy tuxedo, is driving along when a kid flags him down because his friend is caught in a storm drain. Alex must become a hero by risking his own life to save the boy. Wait, I might be confusing Grey's Anatomy for a different show about a hospital.

-The power goes out at the hospital and someone must perform surgery by candle light.

-Callie and Arizona must brave the elements to get back home to be with Sofia. On their way they see that Mount Rainier has become an active volcano and lava is pouring onto the city. OK, I think I just saw that one on a Syfy channel original movie, but it would be hella awesome, right?

What do you hope to see from the Grey's Anatomy superstorm?

Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9pm and the season 9 finale airs May 16.
