Grey’s Anatomy‘s fifth season will be starting very, very soon with an intense, two-hour season premiere. It’s been a very long summer without Grey’s Anatomy to keep us company on Thursday nights, but starting next week, we’ll finally be sated.

I’ve already previewed this episode for you. A few things that will happen: Derek and Meredith will be struggling to achieve their happily ever after; there will be a freak ice storm in Seattle that will bring trauma patients to the hospital; and Kevin McKidd will show up at Seattle Grace as a military surgeon. But great news! I’ve just come across some bona fide clips and spoilers that I’m sure you’ll enjoy.

Mild spoilers ahead. Do not read on if you don’t like spoilers.

All six of these clips and spoilers come from Kristin Dos Santos on E! Online.

Clip #1. Seattle Grace’s Fall From Grace

Ah, I know only too well the anxiety that occurs when national rankings are made every year. My own alma mater Amherst College was the number one liberal arts college when I was a student there, but in the intervening years, it has fallen to second, then third. Thankfully, we’re back up to first place this year. Anyway, I like how nobody even pretends not to care about having fallen to twelfth place nationally among teaching hospitals.

Clip #2. Lexie Loves Georgie

I adore Lexie (Chyler Leigh) and her crush on George (T.R. Knight). How many of us have had crushes on our friends and couldn’t talk about it? It’s so cute, but also kind of heartbreaking.

Clip #3. It’s OK! I’m the limo driver!

I’m all for putting aside my beef with the character of Izzie (Katherine Heigl) and starting fresh with her, and I’m glad to see that she is showing some personality in this clip. I like how she bemusedly reminds Bailey (Chandra Wilson) that it’s nice to have a conscience now and then.

Clip #4. Cristina is Hot For Major

Besides the pen tracheotomy (um, ew?), this scene is great because it introduces Major McHottie (Kevin McKidd). Isn’t he the perfect match for Cristina (Sandra Oh)? He’s aggressive, a risk-taker and doesn’t apologize for his actions.

Clip #5. It’s Just a Flesh Wound

Yay, more Cristina and Major McHottie! He isn’t going to let something as insignificant as deep wound in his leg, gushing blood, prevent him from being hot.

Clip #6. Derek Dies

Oh my. You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been a huge fan of Derek’s (Patrick Dempsey) lately, but this clip really tugged at my emotions and made me tear up a little. (Note to self: Have a box of tissues with me when I watch the Grey’s Anatomy season premiere on Thursday.) Don’t worry, though. Derek doesn’t really die after getting hit by a bus; it’s only a dream sequence. The episode is titled “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” after all. But E! Online’s Kristin does tell us that Derek will be stabbed (for reals) in this episode) and Nurse Rose has something to do with it.
