At the height of the anticipation for its season 6 premiere, the complete season 5 DVD of Grey's Anatomy is set to be available tomorrow. While I'm sure most fans have not missed a single episode of Grey's, it still wouldn't hurt to revisit what happened in season 5 - a good season overall, although it did take a while before it got hot.

Highlights of Grey's Anatomy season 5 include the reappearance of Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) post-it wedding, Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), Sadie's (Melissa George) cult of the interns, Izzie (Katherine Heigl) getting cancer, and George (TR Knight) being out of the picture - most of the time. And Izzie's wedding.

The seven-disc DVD set includes the following special features: a full recap of the first four seasons, making the 100th episode, unaired scenes, outtakes, an extended episode, plus a special look at the character of Denny Duquette and Morgan.

I'm not sure if I'm very crazy about the fifth season of Grey's. it started with a bang, Meredith waiting for Derek in her house of candles, but then things got old quick. And I know a lot of Grey's fans who gave up on the show when Denny started making his prolonged and as yet unexplained appearances to Izzie. Yes, it was all justified in the end, but I think Grey's still lost some fans over that bump.

However, season 5 ended with a high note - very high note - punctuated with both Izzie and George (who comes out of nowhere) in the brink of death, Izzie with cancer and George in a disfiguring vehicular accident. Of course, everyone now knows how this will turn out. Regardless, everyone's still anticipating how Shonda will actually do it.

The Grey's Anatomy The Complete Fifth Season DVD hits stores tomorrow.
