Before getting caught in the intriguing drama and the steamy romances of the new season of
Grey's Anatomy, fans can first catch up and relive the stories that occurred at Seattle Grace Hospital during the fourth season of the Emmy Award-winning medical drama. According to a press release from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment,
Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Fourth Season – Expanded will be coming to DVD and Blu-ray disc on September 9.
The fourth season of
Grey's Anatomy premiered on September 27, 2007 and ended its 16-episode run on May 22. During this season, many of the series regulars did not return, a first in the show's history.
Kate Walsh (Addison Forbes Montgomery) was transferred to the
Grey's Anatomy spin-off,
Private Practice, while
Isaiah Washington's (Preston Burke) contract had not been renewed. Nevertheless, the
Chyler Leigh was added as a series regular.

Season 4 began with Cristina searching for Burke, having just returned from her honeymoon with Meredith, but he's nowhere to be found. Meredith, Cristina, Izzie and Alex spend their first day as residents with their own groups of interns, which included George, who repeated his intern year after failing his exams, and Lexie Grey, Meredith's half-sister whom she has never met. Meanwhile, Richard resumes his position as Chief of Surgery.
In the five-disc DVD and four-disc Blu-ray, fans will find all 16 episodes from season 4 plus extended episodes, deleted scenes, and bloopers, as well exclusive bonus features. These include a feature about that introduces the newest ladies at Seattle Grace, Dr. Hahn, Dr. Lexie Grey and Nurse Rose, some behind-the-scenes moments with Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane, and stories about Seattle Grace's dreamy team from other cast members.
Additionally, the set includes some of the cast's favorite scenes from the fourth season of
Grey's Anatomy and an extended “Forever Young” episode that includes audio commentary by actress Lauren Stamile and executive producer and director Rob Corn.
