When Grey's Anatomy returns tonight, the guy behind the prestigious Harper Avery award is rushed to Seattle Grace-Mercy West, and the staff is surprised to find out that one of their own is related to the legend - apart, of course, from Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), whose mother Ellis won the award twice or Cristina (Sandra Oh), whose ex Preston Burke won it once.
Chances are it's either the Chief (James Pickens, Jr.) or Derek (Patrick Dempsey), because Dr. Avery's "unorthodox request" for his surgery leads to tension between the two. Oh wait that's right. It's Mercy Wester Jackson (Jesse Williams)! His last name is Avery, after all.
Elsewhere on "Perfect Little Accident" Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) try to help Teddy (Kim Raver) and Sloan (Eric Dane) move on for their pasts and find greener pastures.
There's also a scene where Derek walks in on a naked Lexie (Chyler Leigh), which is very, very similar to one of the most hilarious scenes on the Meryl Streep flick It's Complicated. Anyway, promos after the jump:
Just a little trivia: The Harper Avery was named after Grey's Anatomy
creator Shonda Rhimes' daughter Harper.
