Earlier this month,
Katherine Heigl raised eyebrows and ruffled feathers when she announced that she did not want to be considered for an Emmy for her work this year on
Grey's Anatomy. Though the actress won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007, she stated that she was not given Emmy-worthy material this year and did not feel she deserved a nomination.
Some
Grey's Anatomy insiders have anonymously made decelerations to the press that this was a rude surprise, and rumors have swirled that there is bad blood brewing between Heigl and those behind
Grey's Anatomy. Despite these rumors, Katherine Heigl has recently made it clear that she doesn't plan to leave the series that made her a household name.

At a recent appearance to watch her singer husband perform, Katherine Heigl was asked point blank by Life&Style Weekly if she would be returning to the show next season.
"Of course, absolutely,” she responded. “Those people are like my family."
Katherine Heigl reportedly appears in high spirits as of late despite the no doubt tense
Grey's Anatomy set and intense media scrutiny of her Emmy statement, which some people found spiteful. Some have wondered if her public snubbing of the
Grey's Anatomy writers might hurt her role on the show more than help her.
“The show bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule, and then she criticizes the show for lack of material?" an unnamed insider told Entertainment Weekly after Heigl's Emmy announcement. "It's an ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place.”
Will the writers who feel this way want to keep around an actress they feel is ungrateful? Even though Katherine Heigl claims to still be happy working on
Grey's Anatomy, the producers are reportedly prepared if she does decide to leave – or if they decide to get rid of her themselves.
“They already have a wish list of who can fill the void,” an insider told Life&Style. “They will introduce a new, intense blond bombshell who will get people talking about the show like they used to.”
As of now, that wish list will remain merely wishful thinking. Katherine Heigl and her character will be back on the air when
Grey's Anatomy returns with its fifth season this fall on ABC.
Would you still watch Grey's Anatomy if Katherine Heigl left?
