It's no secret that ABC is planning for yet another
Grey's Anatomy-Private Practice crossover. The network has done it before when Addison Montgomery (
Kate Walsh) revisited Seattle Grace at the request of the Chief (
James Pickens Jr.) to perform a groundbreaking surgery in the episode “Piece of My Heart,” which aired last May. Soon, however, another crossover will occur within the walls of the Oceanside Wellness Group.
Having a crossover is surely a refreshing pause from all the current soapy drama in
Grey's Anatomy. But fans shouldn't be at ease just yet. According to
TV Guide's Matt Mitovich, the much awaited crossover will affect one of Seattle Grace's hottest couples.
Warning: This article may contain spoilers!!!
Obviously, Matt Mitovich is referring to Meredith Grey (
Ellen Pompeo) and Derek Shepherd (
Patrick Dempsey), a couple whose relationship seems to be leading towards the altar. However, that might not be the case just yet as there will be ramifications during the
Grey's Anatomy-
Private Practice crossover.
“The multiple-episode crossover involves
Grant Show's [
Swingtown] Archer Montgomery seeking treatment by Derek. Archer, being Addison's brother, already knows Derek every well. In fact, he may know things about Derek that Meredith does not,” Mitovich revealed.
In a previous report by BuddyTV, Shonda Rhimes also hinted that Addison may be visiting again in the middle of the season if there's a good story to tell.
"I don't know if it's going to work with the story, and we don't want her to come back for a visit if it doesn't feel important, something only Addison can do," Rhimes told
Entertainment Weekly at the time. "But the idea is on the table."
What does this mean for Meredith and Derek's relationship? Fans will have to stay tuned on February 5, 12 and 19 on
Private Practice.
