American actor Paul James is a native of Washington, DC. Growing up in Maryland, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Syracuse University, majoring in Drama courses. Paul James has worked on movies such as the murder thriller Cry_Wolf, Glass House, and The Architect alongside Golden Globe winner Anthony LaPaglia. He’s also acted on television in The Deerings, Cold Case, and Twenty Questions. Aside from being a cast member in ABC Family’s new college-based television series Greek, James is also set to appear alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in the upcoming film Spinning Into Butter.

Calvin Owens is played by Paul James in the upcoming ABC Family television show Greek. Pledged to Omega Chi Delta as a legacy member, he’s still Rusty’s closest friend and helps out the naïve newcomer through the Greek system, even as he remains amazed and amused by Rusty’s earnest innocence. Though a bit of a maverick and outsider, Calvin is sharp-minded and savvy, capable of reading people and telling them what they want to hear, and navigates different rooms with practiced ease. It’s revealed at one point that he had a gay encounter with a member of Kappa Tau Gamma, though the truth of this remains disputed, due to Calvin’s adeptness in retelling his stories with new facts almost every single time.
