Clark Duke is an American actor, writer and producer born on May 5, 1985 and is a native of Glenwood, Arkansas. He co-created the web comedy show Clark and Michael with his partner, Arrested Development star Michael Cera. The show was later picked up by CBS and turned into a television series. Their website features around ten episodes, featuring the two in a mockumentary following their ambitions in selling a pilot episode to a network.
In 1992, Duke was nominated for a Young Artist Award for his work on the sitcom Hearts Afire, and has also appeared in a number of other shows. After his work in 1992 to 1994 for Hearts Afire, Clark Duke landed a part in the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He portrayed a fraternity member in the episode “What’s Eating Gilbert Grissom.” He followed this up with a role in Campus Ladies, before he appeared in the comedy film Superbad. Portraying a party teenager on the film, Duke was able to work with best friend Michael Cera, and actors Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Emma Stone and Martha MacIsaac.
Moving on from the teen comedy flick, Clark Duke joined the cast of the ABC Family series Greek. His character is that of Dale, a religious and bespectacled nerd from Texas with unique charms. In 2008, Clark Duke was given a starring role in the comedy Sex Drive, co-written and directed by Sean Anders. He has also signed on to work on the films Kick-Ass and A Thousand Words.
Also a musician, Clark Duke is a member of the band The Long Goodbye with Michael Cera and Christian Buenaventura. It has also been reported that Duke is forming a band with Heroes star Kristen Bell, called Kung-Fu Professor. According to the actor, the two of them met “through Edgar Wright, the director of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. I play guitar and a little bit of keys, and she plays keys and sings. I sort of aspire to sing between, like, cigarettes. I give it my all. I got a lot of heart.”
