
The viewers have finally made up their minds. After 6 eliminations,
Grease You’re the One That I Want revealed its winners,
Max Crumm and
Laura Osnes. The winners of the show were unveiled Sunday during its final episode.
Grease: You’re the One That I Want is a reality series on NBC that showcases contestants and their attempt to land the lead roles of Sandy Dumbrowski and Danny Zuko in the Broadway revival of the musical Grease, which will begin in June of 2007. The said production will be directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winning Kathleen Marshall.
Grease: You’re the One That I Want, which premiered on January 7, 2007, started with 60 aspirants. Eventually, the hopefuls were narrowed down to 12 contestants, six women and six men. Every week, the contestants are tasked to perform songs from “Grease,” as well as other musicals to determine who will remain and who gets eliminated.

Laura Osnes, also known as “Small Town Sandy,” is a 20-year old stage actress who was born and raised in Eagan, Minnesota. She studied at Eagan High School where she first got exposed in theater acting. She also attended the University of Wisconsin-Steven Point where she majored in musical theater. Her acting credits included
The Miracle Worker, Peter Pan, Pippin, and
The Wizard of Oz among others. As for Max Crumm, 21, he is known as “Slacker Danny.” He is an American singer, dancer and actor, who grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, and studied at Desert Vista High school.
Upon the knowledge of their victory, both Crumm and Osnes expressed their joyful sentiments. Crumm said, “Whoa! I can't believe this. Whoa!”
Osnes excitedly added, “This is my dream come true.”
Osnes and Crumm prevailed over
Austin Miller and
Ashley Spencer, also known as “Hot Danny” and “Ballerina Sandy.”
