Matthew Settle, who was born on September 17, 1969 in Hickory, North Carolina, started his acting career at the age of eighteen. He moved to New York and was discovered by the legendary producer Jay Julien who gave Settle a three year scholarship with renowned acting mentor William Esper. He was later cast for his first role of Tommy Shaughnessy in Louis L'Amour's Shaughnessy which appeared on TV in 1996. His other film credits include I Still Know What You Did Last Summer in 1998 where he played Will Benson, 2000's Attraction where he played Matthew, 2004's The Mystery of Natalie Wood where he played Warren Beatty and 2006's The Celestine Prophecy where he played John.
