Nicole Richie is reportedly in talks to return to the small screen, with sources saying she is considering a guest role on the CW's Gossip Girl, possibly on this season's finale.
The online entertainment community was abuzz earlier today with reports that a source told the
New York Daily News newspaper, "Nicole loves
Gossip Girl and she wants a really bitchy, juicy role."
UPDATE:
Richie's rep was quick to quell this internet rumor.
According to Usmagazine.com, "Richie's rep tells Usmagazine.com that it's "not true" she's planning to guest star on the CW show."
Oops! But even Gossip Girl herself has quoted an unreliable source now and then.
Richie, best known in the TV world for her part on
The Simple Life, gave birth to daughter Harlow in January of last year.
The source also said that the former reality star wants to expand her acting career by accepting guest roles on TV series. Richie made her acting debut in the 2005 film
Kids in America, and has previously appeared on several series
including
Six Feet Under,
American Dreams and
Chuck.
Guess that's not true, at least when it comes to
Gossip Girl. Too bad. With word already out that
Michelle Trachtenberg will be returning to the hit teen drama as evil incarnate Georgina Sparks, we were kind of hoping that Richie would be slating for a role as Georgie's newest partner in crime.
Gossip Girl, which stars
Blake Lively,
Leighton Meester, and
Ed Westwick as privileged teens in New York's Upper Eastside, returned to the CW on Monday with an all new episode full of all new intrigue.
