After seeing Chuck and Vanessa swap actual human emotions, B corners him and tries to call off the scheme. She claims that V isn't worth the trouble, but she's really just jealous. She runs off, snags V's camera from her purse, and promptly deletes the pictures of Marcus and Catherine. She also lets V know that the Basshole was just using her, but Vanessa is reluctant to believe her, at least until Chuck fails to deny the allegation. Meanwhile, Lily has finally realized that she wasn't a great mom back in the day. Eric reveals that his ringtone for her in his youth was “Since U Been Gone,” which is rather hilarious. He's happy his mom is trying to bond now days, but she can't expect them to adjust to the Bart situation immediately.
Rufus (
Matthew Settle), who always has the best advice, tells Dan not to give up on helping Nate. He runs off to the abandoned mansion to look for him, but instead finds Serena waiting outside. She was hoping to talk to Nate about her recent drama, but instead she decides to chat with Dan. While they share a sweet moment, Chuck attempts to do something nice by visiting Horace. He still wants to save the building, but V has told Horace all about Chuck's evil ways, and the man no longer wants his charity. Poor Chuck.
As this week's
Gossip Girl wraps up, Serena apologizes to Lily about embarrassing her at the party. Against all odds, the van der Woodsens are getting along like a normal family. Dan convinces Nate to stay at the Humphrey place instead of squatting in his old place, and Blair agrees to give Chuck his well-earned prize. She puts on some sexy lingerie, lights some candles and prepares to give him the wild night of his life. He wants her to say "I love you" before they do it, but when she refuses he decides to leave. "I chased you for long enough," he says. "Now it's time you chased me." Harsh!
