Gossip Girl: Episode 2.11 "The Magnificent Archibalds" Recap (Page 3/3)
After Boron accuses Dan of lying about Serena, the two of them confront S about her mixed up stories.  D takes the blame and claims that he lied, allowing S to save face.  Meanwhile, Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Vanessa set Nate up with the FBI agent, who explains that his father is planning a shady moneymaking scheme.  He's been threatening Nate's grandparents, telling them that he'll steal N away to a foreign country if they don't give him bundles of cash.  It seems that the Captain is broke, and he won't hesitate to break the law to do something about it.

Rufus (Matthew Settle) learns about J's emancipation plans, and tries to explain to his daughter that he loves her and wants her to come home.  Jenny still isn't up for touchy-feely monologues, so she rejects the idea.  Once that awkward scene wraps up, Lily confronts Bart over his Bond-worthy spy shenanigans.  She's so offended that he dug up dirt on the entire family that she plans to have Thanksgiving elsewhere.

Nate's dad tries to explain his crazy extortion scheme, but N doesn't want to hear it.  He tells the Captain that he can either sneak away and leave his life forever, or man up and turn himself in.  He chooses the latter, allowing the Feds to take him away.  Meanwhile, Eric learns Lily's big secret after reading her file.  She was in an institution when she was 19, though the file doesn't explain why.  Does that mean we can look forward to Lily snapping and going crazy later in the season?  I hope so.

Jenny finds the inspiration to return home by talking to Blair (Leighton Meester) of all people.  B runs into her on the street and tells her that she's lucky to have a father who loves her so much.  After Eleanor shows up to convince her daughter to come home, she offers to take Little J back to the Humphrey loft.  Nate's home life also recaptures a little bit of normalcy now that his father is gone.  He makes a date to hang out with Vanessa and plans a drunken night with Chuck, the latter of which sounds like my kind of evening.

As Gossip Girl comes to an end, Blair is surprised to see her father at Thanksgiving dinner.  Eleanor invited him to meet Cyrus, hoping for his approval before the big proposal announcement.  Over in Brooklyn, the Humphrey family shares a group hug when Jenny comes home and rips up her emancipation paperwork.  The raccoon eyes are gone and her hair is actually brushed, so that's a good sign she's no longer evil.  She even makes amends with Vanessa, meaning that Thanksgiving turned out alright for everyone.  That includes Boring Aaron, who doesn't need to read Serena's secret file to know he truly likes her.

In the final moments of the episode, V reads the letter N sent to Jenny, and Bart demands his PI uncover why Lily was in a sanitarium.  I smell a major scandal cooking, and it smells absolutely delicious!
