Leighton Meester, who plays the fabulously malicious and spectacularly well-dressed Blair Waldorf on
Gossip Girl, called in to Ryan Seacrest's radio show on Tuesday to world premiere her new single, "Somebody to Love," featuring R&B crooner Robin Thicke.
Joking that the track is a tame version of the original title
(involving a particular four letter word instead of "love"), Leighton told Ryan, "I
really wanted to make something that's completely different from
anything that's on the radio right now. I feel like
it's really dancy and fun, but it's still laid back and relaxed and
moody and sexy."
The
Gossip Girl star turned techno dance queen went on, "It's
definitely about what's going on in my life and I think anybody can
relate. You're crazy, you're busy, you're young and you're running
around and it's really hard to find somebody to love. People love you
but you don't really love them."
Earlier this year Meester hit it big when she collaborated with Cobra Starship on their single,
"Good Girls Go Bad."Below, take a listen to Leighton's "Somebody to Love," and head over to
Seacrest's blog for the full audio of her call.
