Rumor has it that Gossip Girl
star Leighton Meester will combine her newly revealed musical talents with her acting chops in the upcoming country-singing film, "Love Don't Let Me Down" alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim McGraw, and Garrett Hedlund.
Says The Hollywood Reporter:In "Love," Hedlund plays a young rising singer-songwriter who
becomes involved with a fallen country singer played by Paltrow.
They embark on a career resurrection tour with her husband-manager
(McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester). Romantic
entanglements and old demons threaten to derail them all.
Production is set to begin in January 2010 in Nashville.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
The film was written and will be produced by Shana Feste for Screen Gems, which is also behind Meester's other upcoming project, "The Roommate," which opens September 2010.
Do you see Leighton as a convincing "beauty queen turned singer"?
Personally, I think I'll find her more appealing crooning in a cowboy hat than Gwyneth. We all know how Duets
worked out, after all.
