Since the CW”s
Gossip Girl premiered last year, viewers have been kept in the dark as to the true identity of the unseen narrator, voiced by
Veronica Mars alum and
Heroes star
Kristen Bell. However, the
New York Daily News has managed to get the scoop on just who the sly reporter is.
If you want to stay true to the spirit of
Gossip Girl by being in the know, continue reading for the spoiler.
The
New York Daily News is reporting that
Gossip Girl is not of the female persuasion after all. Apparently, a source told the paper that the person behind all the talking is none other than Eric van der Woodsen (Connor Paolo), Serena's (
Blake Lively) younger brother.
Unfortunately, viewers won't know when or how the big reveal will happen, what with the WGA strike still going strong. Good news is, that's not all the source had to say about
Gossip Girl.
The source also told the
New York Daily News that two cast members are on the outs, and that their conflict has caused their costars to “choose sides.”
"
Leighton Meester [who plays Blair on the show] and Blake Lively avoid each other like the plague while castmates choose sides," the source said. "
Chace Crawford [who plays Nate] tends to stick close to Leighton, while
Penn Badgley [who plays Dan] hangs on and offscreen with Blake. The crew will snag Blake for a scene just moments before it is shot so they can avoid any awkwardness with Leighton."
The actresses have yet to comment on their supposed tiff, although it would make perfect sense why Badgley would choose Lively over Meester. The two have apparently taken their onscreen romance and made it a reality. One of the most recent sightings of the couple was reported by the
New York Daily News, which claims that Badgley and Lively were seen kissing while shopping on Fifth Avenue.
Blake Lively, meanwhile, has denied the reports, most recently telling
People magazine that people tend to “create things that aren't there,” dismissing the rumors as “silly.”
Now that you know who Gossip Girl is, will you still tune in?
