Leighton Meester pays much attention to what other people have to say about her as “It girl” Blair Waldorf on The CW's Gossip Girl.  In real life, however, that's not the case.  In fact, the 21-year-old actress isn't even bothered by inevitable rumors attached to the glitz and glamour of being in the limelight.

"I don't [deal with gossip]," Meester told Teen magazine.  "This comes from maturing and growing up, but I've learned to let things roll off my back.  If people say negative things, I could care less.  But I let it give me a boost of confidence if they're saying nice things.  If the press says anything, I see it as a plus because at least people are paying attention and watching the show."

The Gossip Girl actress appears on the cover of the spring 2008 issue of Teen magazine and is also featured in a five-page 1980s inspired fashion spread.  Additionally in this issue, Meester discusses her character on Gossip Girl, life on the set and off camera, and gives her speculations about the identity of Gossip Girl, the unseen character, voice by Kristen Bell, who uses on online blog to gossip about a group of friends and their dramatic lives in New York's Upper East Side.

According to Meester, despite their different personalities, she has grown to love her Gossip Girl character.

"I feel like I'm becoming more like her and she's becoming more like me.  She's young and vulnerable, but also smart and feisty.  She's pretty funny and very strong-willed.  Then there are other things I don't relate to and I feel like she'll grow out of, like her insecurities and self-doubt," she said.

Fans can catch Leighton Meester, along with the rest of the cast of Gossip Girl, when the teen drama returns on Monday, April 21 on The CW.
