Good news for those who found Lily's back story a little boring! The controversial
Gossip Girl spin-off, which didn't exactly live up to its hype, is officially not happening. That's according to
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, who gave an update on several major upfront-week developments.
"Among new shows, The CW has picked up
Melrose Place 2.0, Beautiful Life, and
Vampire Diaries. Oh, and the G
ossip Girl spin-off is officially dead," Ausiello wrote.
The news that the
Gossip Girl spin-off is over doesn't really come as a surprise.

Gossip Girl flashback episode that was supposed to launch the spin-off, hasn't exactly reaped good reviews. If you missed it,
