Recent photos from the Gossip Girl set reveal that Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle) and Lily van der Woodsen Bass (Kelly Rutherford) will soon meet their love child, Scott (Chris Riggi) sometime during Gossip Girl Season 3! In a smiling, close group hug, the trio looked pleased as peaches to be reunited. But, as Jennifer Godwin over at Watch with Kristin was astute enough to ask, "is Scott actually a lying grifter out to break Rufus' heart and make off with Lily's money?"

The answer, for those of you who don't mind getting a weeee spoiled, after the jump.

Sources at the show confirmed that Scott is indeed a good guy, and the joyous reunion is genuine. Says Jennifer:

"Sources tell us that the kiddos (Dan, Serena, Little J and Eric) learn about their half brother earlier in the season, but in episode five of Gossip Girl season three, Rufus and Lily finally meet their long-lost spawn, Scott, and he's up to nothing more nefarious than trying to find his birth parents. He's a good guy, after all!"

Hmm. Well, where's the fun in that? I hope Scott's at least a tad peeved that his adopted parents told Rufus and Lily THAT HE WAS DEAD, if he's indeed mysteriously cool with Lily for putting him up for adoption and lying to Rufus about his ever existing. Is Scott not so bright? Or just the most forgiving guy we've ever seen on Gossip Girl?

According to E!, "Scott's main arc is the first five episodes of the season, and he departs again after the big reunion, but more likely than not, the character will recur again for the remainder of the season."

I think I speak for more than just myself when I say that lovey dovey happy reunions are all well and good (in real life)... but c'mon, Gossip Girl, BRING ME THE DRAMA!
