Sebastian in, Chace out
First off, we know that the Upper East Side has its fair share of eligible actors, but we had no idea they were this in demand. Entertainment Weekly reports that Gossip Girl hottie Sebastian Stan was recently added to the list of actors in consideration for the coveted Captain American title role, a roster that so far includes Fantastic Four's Chris Evans, Dear John's Channing Tatum and Cloverfield's Mike Vogel.

Sadly, Stan's Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford has tweeted that he is out of the running for the role, and that he wishes whoever they choose the best of luck. We wouldn't worry about it, though. Crawford's Footloose remake is set to kick off filming this month, and surely, dancing is much more fun than wielding an indestructible shield, right?

Leighton off to Monte Carlo?
It's not just the boys of Gossip Girl who are in great demand in the big screen. After recently inking a deal to appear opposite House star Hugh Laurie in the indie dramedy The Oranges, Leighton Meester is in talks to join another much-anticipated project, the young femme comedy Monte Carlo, Variety reports.

With Disney Channel star Selena Gomez officially onboard, producers are keen to give the adaptation a youthful touch, no doubt taking a page from the Twilight book.

Nicole Kidman was supposed to star, but the updated script pegged the protagonists age at a much younger bracket. The novel is about a group of American women who ditch a disappointing no-frills holiday in Paris and pose as wealthy women vacationing in Monaco.

Lady Gaga as Serena's aunt?
Finally, talking to MTV on the premiere of Lady Gaga's single "Telephone," Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz says that if there is anything he'd say to the pop star, he'd ask her to come back to the CW hit.

"Maybe she can play, like, Lily's sister, Aunt Carol... Serena's aunt," he says.

Lady Gaga appeared on the Gossip Girl episode "The Last Days of Disco Stick" in November as herself, when Blair (Meester) tried to impress the elitist NYU kids by having the biggest musical act do a private concert (in a humongous red number). The pop star has mentioned that she likes the show.
