The presidential race that our country is currently obsessed with almost seems low-key and innocent compared to the backstabbing and manipulation that's been happening on Gossip Girl this season.  Blair has been triumphant in the games of one-upsmanship for most of the season, but Chuck truly stole her thunder in the latest episode.  In a totally OMG-worthy moment, it was revealed that Chuck hired new girl Amanda to woo Dan, all in an effort to persuade Serena to reclaim her rightful place as queen of Constance Billiard.  His evil plan worked wonderfully, and it also succeeded in pissing off power-hungry Blair.

On the next episode of Gossip Girl, the gang drops in on New York Fashion Week.  Read on for some photos and a clip from the episode.

The CW's official description of the episode reads: In the midst of Fashion Week, a furious Blair (Leighton Meester) learns that her mother, Eleanor, at the suggestion of her protégé Jenny, has given Serena and her new socialite friend, Poppy Lifton, front row seats to the Eleanor Waldorf show.  Hurt once again by Serena's popularity and her mother's betrayal, Blair decides to sabotage the show.  Meanwhile, Dan starts hanging out with Chuck (Ed Westwick), but a walk on the dark side always has its risks and Dan learns that the hard way. Lily (Kelly Rutherford) learns a secret that her new husband, Bart, has been keeping from her.

Bart has a dark secret?  Blair tries to sabotage Fashion Week?  Dan is hanging out with Chuck?!  Bring it on!  The first photo from the episode shows Jenny (Taylor Momsen) having some sort of confrontation with Blair.  From the look on Little J's face, I'm guessing B isn't complimenting her fashion sense.



The second photo shows Serena leading the pack on the Fashion Week runway.  Is her dress wonderfully chic, or does she look like a cracked-out prom queen who stuck her finger in a light socket?  You be the judge!



The clip from the episode shows the beginnings of the sure to be short-lived bromance between Chuck and Dan (Penn Badgley).  Chuck is horrified to see a Brooklynite in his swanky hotel room, but Dan insists that he needs Chuck's help to get out of his comfort zone.  "Are you gay?" Chuck asks before reluctantly agreeing to show Humphrey a night out on the town.



The new episode of Gossip Girl, "The Serena Also Rises," airs this Monday at 8pm.
