Gossip Girl: Preview of Episode 2.4 "The Ex-Files"
Almost everyone ended up apart this week on Gossip Girl. Let's see, here: Cougar Catherine schemed to keep Vanessa away from Nate. Serena and Dan finally decided that they couldn't overcome their mountain of issues and decided to call it quits. And, Chuck Basstard played interference with Blair's romance with her British lord Marcus. However, Catherine managed to upgrade Nate from boy-toy to gigolo, so at least these two have access to regular nooky.

Read on to see some clips and photos from the new episode of Gossip Girl.

In Monday's all-new episode of Gossip Girl, it's all about exes. The official CW synopsis of the fourth episode of the season, entitled “The Ex-Files,” is as follows:

“When Serena (Blake Lively) notices that Dan (Penn Badgley) has been cozying up to the new girl in school, Amanda (guest star Laura-Leigh), the ever-loyal Blair (Leighton Meester) and her minions decide to befriend Amanda and sabotage her budding new romance with “lonely boy.” Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) discovers a scandalous secret about Catherine (guest star Madchen Amick) and enlists Blair's scheming expertise to use the information to help Nate (Chace Crawford). Meanwhile, Lily (Kelly Rutherford) finds herself drawn back to her ex, Rufus (Matthew Settle), once again. Taylor Momsen and Ed Westwick also star.”

In the clip below, it's evident that Serena and Dan are taking their break up to a competitive level. I'm anticipating the return of the wild side of Serena, and I'd like to see how Dan takes it.

I'm also looking forward to some cat-fight shenanigans on the athletic field, especially because I find Blair preppily stunning in her field hockey outfit, as the picture below shows.

In this second clip, Vanessa continues to avoid Nate, for fear of Catherine going to the Feds with Nate's dad's whereabouts. Clearly in this clip, Vanessa has not yet found out the secret about Catherine, but I'm anxiously looking forward to it because it'll lead to Vanessa and Blair scheming together. I love it when goody-goody types realize that Queen B is their biggest ally.

This last photo is of Lily and Rufus. Of course, it's hard to tell what they are talking about here, but it'll be nice to have Lily, who didn't appear in any of the first three episodes, back on the show. Also, I find Lily-less Rufus incredibly boring, so I hope he'll start getting better storylines too, now that she's back.
