The cast of Gossip Girl
aren't the only ones who can flaunt the chic prep-school look. Thanks to the show's official website, fans can now sport the same trends showcased on The CW's new teen drama.
The site, that now includes a virtual shopping mall, has a point-and-click feature that allows viewers at home to purchase the clothes and accessories exhibited on each episode of the series. Items from Coach, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs, Hugo Boss and DKNY, just to name a few, are displayed throughout the fall, including the price of the merchandise, and a product description saying who wore it on which episode.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
"With our audience, we know fashion is very much at the top of their minds," Rick Haskins, executive vice president of marketing and brand strategy for the CW, said in a statement.
Although Gossip Girl
isn't the first of its kind to offer shopping components to the show's website as part of its marketing and promotional efforts, it promises a huge dose of affordability.
"Upper East Siders [like those featured on Gossip Girl
] tend to have a more open checkbook than some of our viewers," Haskins said. "So our site offers two options. Sometimes you can buy the actual fashion that is featured in the show, other times you can get what we like to call the 'look for less' option."
Following a new episode, which airs every Wednesday at 9pm, new items will be added on the site. But while the majority of the products are geared for young female audiences, the site also includes several pieces for men that will hopefully satisfy those Nate Archibald wannabes.
Aside from offering Gossip Girl
's latest trends, the site also provides coaching from the show's style team so fans will be geared with the necessary tips on who to put the whole look together.
