Gossip Girl: Episode 2.11 "The Magnificent Archibalds" Recap (Page 1/3)

Spotted: Blair Waldorf clashing with her mother's new man, Cyrus Rose.  Last week's episode of Gossip Girl found B going head to head with Eleanor's new beau, who eventually managed to win Blair's heart by successfully out-scheming her.  Also acting devious was Little J, who attempted to cut Agnes out of her business deal, only for the crazy model to retaliate by burning all of her designs.  Those flames were much hotter than the chemistry between Serena and Aaron, which continues to be non-existent.  Can someone please ship Boring Aaron off to Chino, or at least the New York equivalent?

Tonight's episode of Gossip Girl is a Thanksgiving extravaganza, which means it's time for some tasty turkey served up with a side of horrible parenting.

Gossip Girl tells us that Thanksgiving is all about lying, manipulation and betrayal, which sounds about right to me.  B isn't adjusting well to living with Cyrus and his annoying family, and the fact that her dad isn't visiting for Turkey Day doesn't help.  While B remains down in the dumps, S is thrilled that Boring Aaron is spending the holiday with her.  B thinks Serena's polyamorous paramour is just like Bill Paxton in Big Love, only younger and scruffier.  The difference is that Bill Paxton starred in Aliens, and he's also more exciting to watch than the foppish mannequin we call Boron.

Nate (Chace Crawford) is back in town, but now he's on the outs with both Chuck and Dan, so his bromances are on the rocks.  His dad has also returned to the city, which causes N to shake his bangs in disbelief.  Captain Archibald has been living it up in his exotic locale, and he's come back to invite the family to run away with him.

Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Eric visit a lawyer about the emancipation, and she's shocked to learn that she's required to inform her parents of her decision.  J is also the talk of the Humphrey loft, as Rufus has caught on to the fact that his daughter's no longer living with Agnes.  She's actually been staying with Eric while Lily was out of town, which Lily is shocked to learn.  Rufus wants to see his daughter right away, but Lily suggests he wait until he calms down.  We wouldn't want him trying to toss her in the clink again.
