Nate Archibald (
Chace Crawford) has turned from "golden boy" to Upper East Side's charity case following his father's fraud and embezzlement. But that won't be the case for long. According to
TV Guide, which first reported the news,
Gossip Girl has enlisted two more actors to give Nate's ill-fated storyline a little boost.
Aaron Tveit and Holley Fain have reportedly been cast to play Nate's very wealthy cousin Tripp Vanderbilt and his fiancée, Maureen, respectively. Not much has been revealed about Tveit and Fain's guest stint on
Gossip Girl aside from the fact that they'll be appearing in at least two episodes. However, it has also been hinted that their visit to the Upper East Side will urge Nate to reconcile with his mother's powerful family.
Tveit isn't exactly popular on the TV circuit but has made quite name for himself in the world of theater. So what's his claim to fame? He has broken onto the Broadway scene as Link Larkin in
Hairspray and is currently starring in the production of
Wicked in the leading role of Fiyero.
Additionally, Tveit is also credited for the Arena Stage production of
Next to Normal where he was nominated for a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Featured Actor, the Broadway musical
Catch Me If You Can,
The Three Musketeers, and the DreamWorks film
Ghost Town. Most recently, he shot the pilot for
The Verdict.
Fain, on the other hand, has done more TV appearances compared to Tveit. She's appeared on
3 lbs, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, and has been recently cast as Angie Wilson on
Lipstick Jungle. She has also worked in the Michael Knowles movie
One Night.
Meanwhile,
Gossip Girl fans can catch the repeat episode of "It's A Wonderful Lie" tonight on The CW. The 12th installment of the second season, which originally aired on December 1, 2008, follows Blair (
Leighton Meester) and Chuck (
Ed Westwick) as they make a bet to find the ideal dates for each other for the annual Snowflake Ball.
