I know I'm in the minority because I actually liked the Gossip Girl spin-off Valley Girls, whereas everyone I knew hated it and weren't interested in Lily van der Woodsen (Kelly Rutherford on Gossip Girl, Brittany Snow in the spin-off) before she became nosy mom to Serena. Appearing at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, CW chief Dawn Ostroff doused fire on any remaining hopes that Valley Girls will see light.

"Not right now," Ostroff said, simply. "It doesn't look like it's likely."

The Gossip Girl spin-off premiered as a backdoor pilot on the 24th episode of the second season of CW hit, following the lives of Lily and her sister Carol in the San Fernando Valley. The episode pretty much revealed why Lily was acting all weird, including sending daughter Serena (Blake Lively) to jail (yes, she did). It was pronounced dead when it didn't make it to the network's fall schedule, although later, Ostroff revealed that it might be a midseason replacement.

Valley Girls also features Lily's father Rick (Andrew McCarthy), her mother CeCe (Cynthia Watros), her sister Carol (Krysten Ritter), and the father of her future daughter and son, Keith van der Woodsen (Matt Barr). Other characters include Owen (Shiloh Fernandez), planned love interest for Lily, and Shep (Ryan Hansen), who has shown an interest for Carol.
