Previously on Gossip Girl: Serena and Dan broke up after Georgina meddled in their relationship. Serena spends the summer in the Hamptons with Nate, who broke up with Vanessa for no apparent reason. Blair and Chuck were supposed to spend the summer in Europe together, but each got sidetracked by other love interests. Jenny, after ceding the turf war to Blair, got a fashion design internship with Blair's mother for the summer. Lily and Rufus slept together, but that didn't stop Lily from marrying Bart Bass anyway.
If the new promo ads are to be believed, the sophomore season of
Gossip Girl is going to be one racy ride. But we expect no less from the CW's hottest teen drama.
In the second season premiere of
Gossip Girl, Blair (Leighton Meester) returns home from France and finds that
Chuck (Ed Westwick) is back to his old womanizing ways. Nate (Chace Crawford) will be hunting cougars this season in the form of Catherine Mason, played by the lovely Madchen Amick of
Gilmore Girls, while Serena (Blake Lively) has a fling with a Hamptons lifeguard. The whole gang, including poor Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) happens to meet up in the Hamptons before school starts, and no doubt, sauciness will ensue.
Snarkily narrated by Kristen Bell who gives us the lowdown on who went down,
Gossip Girl is deliciously naughty, consistently pushing the envelope for a CW show in the 8pm time slot. Based on the teen book series of the same name, the television series takes us into the privileged world of the Upper East Side, and this season, we can look forward to a full season of episodes, uninterrupted by strike, of drama and intrigue. It's
Dangerous Liasons meets the blogosphere.
Will you watch the new season of Gossip Girl?
