It's already week 6 of Dancing with the Stars season 13? Where does the time go? And where do the competitors go, for that matter? It seems like only yesterday when we had 12 fresh-faced celebrities hitting the dance floor. Now, alas, there are but 7 remaining. Who will be next?Broadway Week Hits the Stage
We'll find out in the next couple of days, but now it's time to take a look at what's to come for week 6.
When Broadway is your theme, you know it's going to be a big DWTS
show. With multiple theater-themed performances added to the usual ballroom dances, it's going to be quite impressive.
The biggest Broadway name to take to the DWTS
stage this week is Kristin Chenoweth. The singer and actress, who has won both an Emmy and a Tony, will be performing on both Monday and Tuesday nights this week. While we can expect some country music from Chenoweth (who just released an album in that genre), she will also give plenty of Broadway goodness: a medley of "Maybe This Time" (from Cabaret
) and "I Could Have Danced All Night" (from My Fair Lady
) is expected for Monday night.
Kristin Chenoweth is best known to TV audiences for several roles, including that of Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies
(Chenoweth won an Emmy for the part) and April Rhodes on Glee
(her second Emmy nomination). Starting in the winter, she will star on GCB
(formerly Good Christian Belles
, formerly Good Christian Bitches
), the probably motivation for her appearance. On Broadway, Kristin Chenoweth was known for originating the role of Glinda in Wicked
and for her Tony-winning part in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown
Other performers this week include country singer Martina McBride (performing Tuesday night), the cast of Broadway's Sister Act
and a "Macy's Stars of Dance" Broadway homage choreographed by Kenny Ortega and starring Corbin Bleu.Dances for Week 6
Week 6 marks the first group dance for the DWTS
season 13 competitors. In addition to their own dances, each couple will compete simultaneously for points in a Broadway-themed group dance-off.
But there will still be individual dances. What will we see?
Video: The Stars Answer Twitter Questions
- J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff: Quickstep
- Ricki Lake and Derek Hough: Quickstep
- Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy: Rumba
- Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke: Cha Cha
- David Arquette and Kym Johnson: Quickstep
- Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus: Foxtrot
- Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer: Tango
Once again, ABC has given us video answers to random Twitter questions asked by fans. This week, it's Hope Solo and J.R. Martinez who will do the answering.
Hope was asked (by @hopesoloFTW, probably a fan) if she and Maks got along. Obviously, this is someone who either doesn't watch the production clips or who doesn't believe what is seen:
Apparently, they're both cool with the fighting.
J.R. Martinez is next, answering a question from @Texas_BH. His question has to do with enlisting in the military, because there is nothing more dance-related than questions about the military.
That's probably actually good advice. I have no clue why it's in a DWTS
video, but whatever.
