Carnie Wilson was born April 29, 1968 in Los Angles, California. She is the daughter of the legendary Beach Boys frontman Brian Wilson and Marilyn Rovell from the 60's girl group The Honeys.
In the 1990's, Carnie and sisters Wendy and Chynna formed the phenomenal group known as Wilson Phillips. The trio produced four albums namely Wilson Phillips in 1990, Shadows and Light in 1992, Greatest Hits in 2000 and California in 2004. Their debut single, “Hold On” knocked out Madonna's “Vogue” when it became the #1 hit on the US Billboard charts. Their other hit singles include “Release Me”, “Impulsive”, “The Dream is Still Alive” and “You're In Love.” Carnie and Wendy also recorded together and released a Christmas album entitled Hey Santa! in 1993. Four years after, the girls and their father produced an album called The Wilsons.
Carnie hosted the TV talk show Carnie! from 1995-1996. She also appeared on various shows like That 70's Show, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, I Married… and 101 Incredible Celebrity Slimdowns. But life in the show business hasn't always been a smooth one for her. Her problem with obesity led to her being spoofed on
Saturday Night Live but Carnie solved this by undergoing gastric bypass surgery. After the operation, she proudly posed for Playboy and flaunted her new body.
She married Rob Bonfilio in 2000 and had their first daughter, Lola Sofia, in 2005. Shortly after giving birth, Carnie launched her solo career with an album entitled A Mother's Gift: Lullabies from the Heart. In 2006, she joined the fourth season of the reality show
Celebrity Fit Club . Carnie was also a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. In 2007, she released another Christmas album, Christmas with Carnie. It contained the song “Warm Lovin' Christmastime” which was written by her husband. In 2008, she became a cast member in CMT's reality TV show
Gone Country , where artists from different music genres compete to win a country music contract.
