Nope, No 'Dr. Horrible' or 'Buffy' on Joss Whedon's 'Glee'
Nope, No 'Dr. Horrible' or 'Buffy' on Joss Whedon's 'Glee'
Since you suggested I do so a few weeks back, I watched "Once More with Feeling"--that Buffy episode that cemented Joss Whedon's reputation for whipping up all these musical stuff.  And, well, it was fun.  Fun, and very meticulous.

So I wondered, since Joss himself wrote those songs, that it's possible some of the songs on that episode will appear on the future Glee episode he will helm.  Who knows?  It'd be funny seeing Finn go "let me rest in peace" or something, maybe when confronted by his liking for Rachel, "his baby" with Quinn, and all the stuff that led him to Vitamin D in the first place.

Glee is available on Amazon Prime.

But that's not what Joss had in mind.  Nope, we shouldn't expect to hear songs from Buffy--or, in this case, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog--on the Glee episode he'll direct next year.

"The episode isn't about me," he told TV Guide Magazine.  "It's the next episode of Glee.  Hopefully my hands will be invisible on the show.  You'll just go, 'Why, that is remarkably good.  It gives me glee.'  That is my hope."

Why, that is some pun, Mr. Whedon.

But perhaps deserving of the pun, because Joss finds himself enjoying Glee--lot more than we thought, it seems.  "With [Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles] and Battlestar [Galactica] gone, my wife and I need a new obsession and it landed on my lap," he said.  "And sang to us!"

Joss' Glee episode's expected to hit screens, I'm guessing, sometime around May.  He did say he's shooting in March, which is still a long time away--but enough time for us gleeks to wonder what he'll be up to.  Sure, he might not be writing the episodes, but maybe a Dr. Horrible reference is in order?
