Here's a treat for those of us saddened that Glee didn't stage some sort of meta political "tribute" episode to last night's elections (haha, just kidding, that would be the worst): All sorts of news about upcoming Glee songs up on the interwebs today!

Here's what we'll hear, though in most cases I don't know when or by whom. Sources cited.

Coming up next week on episode 2,06, "Never Been Kissed":

Watch the new promo that aired last night, including a glimpse at Blaine (Darren Criss) and the Dalton Academy Warblers singing Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream":

According to Spoiler TV, here are the songs we'll hear in next week's episode:

"Stop! In the Name of Love / Free Your Mind" (The Supremes / En Vogue) - The Glee Guys
"Start Me Up / Livin' on a Prayer" (Rolling Stones / Bon Jovi)- The Glee Girls
"One Love (People Get Ready)" (Bob Marley) - Puck and Artie
"Teenage Dream" (Katy Perry) - Dalton Academy Warblers

My take: I loved last season's mashups, and it looks like the Glee boys and girls are going for a mashup competition part 2 next week, this time with a gendered twist: by singing a mash of two group numbers normally performed by the opposite gender. I'm also very excited to see Puck return with such a beautiful classic song.

GleeForum.com also have a list of upcoming Glee songs that includes these (beyond those listed above):

"Because You Loved Me" (Celine Dion) - Sunshine Corazon (Charice)
"Rockstar 101" (Rihanna) - Glee Cast
"Singing in the Rain" (Gene Kelly) - Glee Cast
"We Both Reached for the Gun" (Chicago) - Gwyneth Paltrow
"You're the Inspiration" (Chicago) - Glee Cast

My take: These are weird. Or maybe it's just weird seeing Rihanna and classic Broadway songs on the same list. In any case, I love Singing in the Rain and I hope they don't ruin it.

Lastly, Glee-Web.Com claims to have gotten hold of the tracklist for Glee: The Music Volume 4, which holds an interesting peek at another song for upcoming guest star Gwyneth Paltrow, plus more future covers from the show (tracks 13 and on):

1. "Empire State Of Mind" (Jay-Z & Alicia Keys)
2. "Billionaire" (Travie McCoy ft Bruno Mars)
3. "Me Against The Music" (Britney Spears)
4. "Stronger" (Britney Spears)
5. "Toxic" (Britney Spears)
6. "The Only Exception" (Paramore)
7. "I Want To Hold Your Hand" (The Beatles)
8. "One Of Us" (Joan Osborne)
9. "River Deep, Mountain High" (Ike & Tina Turner)
10. "Lucky" (Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat)
11. "One Love" (People Get Ready) (Bob Marley & The Wailers)
12. "Teenage Dream" (Katy Perry)
13. "Forget You" ("F*** You") (ft. Gwyneth Paltrow) (Cee-Lo Green)
14. "Marry You" (Bruno Mars?)
15. "Sway" (Pablo Beltrán Y Su Orchestra)
16. "Just The Way You Are" (Bruno Mars)
17. "Valerie" (The Zutons)
18. "(I've Had) The Time Of My Life" (Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes)

My take: A Dirty Dancing classic duet? Cee-Lo's super-catchy angry hit? Yes please! This is what I love about Glee: Say what you will about what you will, but their song choices have variety! I'm looking forward to these, even though I can't really imagine Gwyneth Paltrow singing "F*** You," even the censored version. I still see her as more of a "Bette Davis Eyes" sort of crooner.
