Turns out Kurt isn't the only one impressed (obsessed?) with his new "friend" Blaine of the Dalton Academy Warblers. Deadline reports
that Darren Criss, who plays the angelic private school stud who teaches Kurt the importance of courage in last night's "Never Been Kissed"
, will move to a regular character, probably at the beginning of season 3. Until then, his character would still be considered recurring. Criss's "Teenage Dream" performance was the hit of the episode (watch it again below) and the name "Darren Criss" trended for hours on Twitter last night, so we can see why the Glee
producers would want to keep Kurt's new dreamboat around as much as possible.
Meanwhile, Criss isn't the only new star to hit the Glee stage:
Glee is available on Amazon Prime.
Next week, Gwyneth Paltrow will guest star as Holly Holiday, the substitute teacher who also happens to have singing and dancing (and possibly some Will Schuester-wooing) skills. Ryan Murphy spoke with People about Paltrow's "Umbrella / Singin' in the Rain" mash-up routine coming up: "She had to sort of stamp around with Matt [Morrison] and the kids in a
full tank of water for 12 hours [...] She loved it, actually. She's just
Murphy went on: "I've always loved her when she sang. And I said, 'You should sing and
dance, and show people what you can do,' " Murphy says. "She has a movie coming out in December, Country Strong
, so she said, 'Oh, that might work.' "
Will it work? Watch the preview for next week's Glee, "The Substitute," and judge for yourself:
