To quote the early years of
Grey's Anatomy: Seriously? Today
Glee creator Ryan Murphy and 20th Century Fox announced that this summer, the
Glee Live! concert will be turned into a 3D movie.
Glee Live! 3D! will be released in theaters August 12, featuring footage from the
Glee
Live! concert series. It should be noted that both of the exclamation
points are actually in the film's title, because this is The! Most!
Exciting! Movie! Ever! Made! In! The! History! Of! Mankind!!!
Also, 3D? Really? While I'm amused by the possibility of having a slushie thrown into the audience faces, turning this concert film into 3D feels like an obvious excuse for FOX to make even more money off the huge cash cow that is
Glee. They already have iTunes downloads, about 300 CDs and DVDs coming out every other week, so adding a movie is already a big enough way to capitalize on the phenomenon, but making it 3D just seems excessive.
Are you excited for
Glee Live! 3D! or are you disappointed that they couldn't find a way to cram a third exclamation point into the title?
