seemed like an unusual choice for San Diego's International Comic-Con but according to all the fans at Saturday's panel, it was right where it belonged. One thing was clear: Glee
is unlike anything we've ever seen on television before. The mixture of drama, comedy and musical is delightful and refreshing. The pilot episode, which premiered after the American Idol finale is slowly gaining more and more fans. If you haven't seen it, go check out the whole episode on Hulu
One of the series' greatest accomplishments has been the iTunes sales of the Glee
music. By the end of season one, producers Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk promised up to 80 tracks. Luckily, they'll have plenty to choose from when they put together the original soundtrack around November.
Glee is available on Amazon Prime.
The packed full panel of fans, Joss Whedon included, were treated to the second episode titled "Showmance." The word crowd pleaser is an understatement. The audience went nuts, laughed hysterically and gave a raucous applause at the end. Songs by Rihanna and Kanye West added to the emotions and plights of the characters. For those of you who thought the humor fell flat in episode one, you must check out "Showmance" before you give up on Glee
The other major announcement, which I'm sure you've heard by now, is that the Glee
cast will be going on a ten city tour to promote the new season. I suspect many fans will attend just to see Lea Michele, who had the most fans at Comic-Con due to her role in Spring Awakening.
Please, for your own good, check out Glee
as soon as possible. It was by far my favorite panel this weekend and I'm a total Battlestar, Chuck, and Twilight fangirl.More Comic-Con 2009 Coverage:
