Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop, Gilmore GirlsIn honor of Mother's Day, BuddyTV has compiled this list of our 10 favorite motherly moments.

To be honest, this entire list could be made up of maternal moments from Gilmore Girls. The show is all about the relationship between mother and daughter. A close second on this list was the final scene from the first season episode “Rory's Dance,” when Rory (Alexis Bledel) doesn't come home, leading to a series of epic screaming matches that just underscore how much these Gilmore women love each other.

But topping this Mother's Day list are actually two moments from the same episode, season 6's “The Prodigal Daughter Returns.” First, a distraught Emily (Kelly Bishop) attempts to buy a plane and Lorelai shows up to talk her out of it. Emily is lost because she's lost Rory like she once lost Lorelai, and though some fans may debate the truth of Lorelai's response, she assures her mother, “You didn't lose me.”

While the fractured relationship between Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and her mother drives a lot of the drama, there's nothing as sweet as Lorelai and Rory. For the first nine episodes of season 6, they were in a fight and separated themselves from each other. But in the end of this episode, Rory finally gets her act together and comes home. The joy in both their voices is obvious. It's what we all want our relationship with our mothers to be like, one of absolute love and affection, where the thought of being apart is horrifying and all is forgiven by the bond you share. Just watch this clip and you'll understand.
