Jennifer Love Hewitt, the star of the Emmy Award-nominated CBS series
Ghost Whisperer, is one actress who sets herself apart from the rest of the Hollywood hip crowd. In fact, the 29-year-old Saturn Award-winner is a self-professed good girl who really wasn’t into the drinking and partying scene while growing up in the spotlight.
"I’ve never been a big partier. I grew up around a lot of kids my age who went that way, and they lost more than they ever got from living that lifestyle,"
Jennifer Love Hewitt told Health magazine. "It just was not my thing."
She also points out that she isn't completely alcohol-free, as she "does do enjoy a glass of wine or a beer on a hot day." However, for her, it's a matter of priorities and self-control when it comes to dealing with the drinks.
"It’s my job to look fresh when I show up at work, particularly now that there’s high-definition TV," she explains. "Plus, I like to be in control of what’s coming out of my mouth. Alcohol doesn’t allow you to have that ability. I find it’s much more interesting, especially in Hollywood, to be the sober person in the room as everybody else slowly deteriorates—it’s hilarious."
Catching celebrities going wild and drinking the night away isn’t the only thing the media is good at. They’re also good at pointing out who’s gained weight and who’s dealing with anorexia. In fact, Hewitt was recently a victim of the media when it was pointed out that she was gaining more weight than usual. The
Ghost Whisperer star bounced right back and lost weight, revealing her sexy figure last month.
"I am in a pretty good workout regimen that I like, so it inspired me to keep it up," Hewitt told Us magazine last month. "The energy level and the way I feel now is great."
Additionally, she says to Health that she is pretty much content with the way things are going in her life right now. She admitted, “I’m by nature a positive person. I’m grateful at how my life has turned out. I feel pretty happy all-around.”
